Fraudulent E-visa Websites

Boston Başkonsolosluğu 19.04.2019

It has been brought to our attention that there has been an increase in the number of fraudulent e-visa platforms attempting to imitate official Turkish government websites.

These fraudulent websites copy images of the official e-visa website and are designed to appear legitimate. However, users can detect the footnote at the bottom of the page that reads, “This is a commercial/private website, NOT an official website of the Government.” Furthermore, these websites charge extra fees in addition to the e-visa fee and/or issue fake e-visas.

Necessary measures have been taken and legal actions have been initiated against these websites. However, it has been noticed that these websites utilize legal loopholes that make it difficult to shut them down completely and they are able to relaunch via different service providers and/or different IP addresses.

The official government website for Turkish e-visas is www.evisa.gov.tr and we urge those wishing to visit Turkey to only use this website to acquire their e-visas.
